When someone dies: what to do

In difficult moments it is hard to think about procedures. Here is a short guide to what needs to be done. For everything else, we are here: call us at any time.

Call: +387 65 594 635

If the death occurred at home

  1. Call a doctor

Call the emergency service (124) or the doctor on duty at the local health centre. The doctor confirms the death and issues a death certificate.

  2. Call us

Once you have the death certificate, call us on +387 65 594 635. We will come as soon as possible, day or night.

  3. Arranging the funeral

Together we agree on the date, cemetery, supplies and farewell. We take care of the paperwork and the registration of death.

If the death occurred in hospital or a care home

The institution informs the family and issues a death certificate. Call us: we collect the deceased from the hospital (University Clinical Centre Banja Luka) or the care home and agree all further steps with you.

If the death occurred abroad

Call us immediately: the first hours are crucial. We handle the documentation in the country of death, the transport to Banja Luka or anywhere in the region, and the funeral.

All about international repatriation

In the case of an accident or a sudden death outside a health institution, the police (122) must also be informed. The deceased can be collected once the authorities have given their approval.
